Stabbing in Newton sends woman to hospital while police search for attacker

Investigators want witnesses and surveillance video in the area

Police in Surrey are searching for man who stabbed a woman on Tuesday evening (Jan. 16).

It happened at around 7:52 p.m. in the 12100-block of 84 Avenue, a residential area of Newton.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from hospital following treatment, according to Surrey RCMP media liaison Cpl. James Mason.

Police dogs were called to the scene of the crime, but the suspect, described as having a thin build, and wearing a white puffy jacket, eluded arrest.
