RCMP probe 2nd Surrey shooting, hours after 2 were arrested for shots fired

Police say no one was injured in the Fleetwood incident

Surrey RCMP is investigating another shooting, hours after two people were arrested after shots were fired in Guildford.

Police were called to Fleetwood, in the 7800-block of 167 Street, Friday (Dec. 29), around 9:30 p.m., for reports of shots fired. Officers found evidence “to support a shooting having occurred in the area.”

No one was injured during the incident, RCMP say.

Staff Sgt. Duane Honeyman said officers would be in the neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witness to gather more information.

The investigation, he said, is still in its early stages and police are working to determine a possible motive.

This shooting comes just seven hours after two people were arrested in Guildford for a shooting.

Police were called to the area of 101 Avenue and 156 Street around 2:15 p.m. Friday for a shooting.

Sgt. Tammy Lobb said investigators were able to determine that two male suspects fled the area in a blue Range Rover, and with help from several agencies they were able to arrest them in Langley.

Police are still working to determine a possible motive.
