Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a dump truck and an SUV at 80 Avenue and 122A Street in Newton early Dec. 21.
The crash happened on a Thursday at 6:36 a.m., Surrey RCMP Const. Parmbir Kahlon said. “Despite lifesaving efforts, one person was declared deceased at the scene.
“There’s been no charges laid in that investigation,” he said. “They’re still trying to piece together what exactly occurred and what factors led into the investigation, so that’s still ongoing.”
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) is helping the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) with the investigation.
Police are asking for anyone with information, including dash cam footage in the area on 80 Avenue and 122A Street, to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2023-207460.
