Transit Police have closed their investigation into the death of a 41-year-old man who was killed when he fell into the path of a SkyTrain at Surrey Central Station at about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 after police determined it was an accident.

“There’s no nefarious actions that happened and it wasn’t intentional,” Const. Amanda Steed said. “He wasn’t pushed, it does appear to be accidental. Very unfortunate. His name won’t be released.”

The man fell onto the tracks from the platform as the train was entering the station.

“It’s unfortunate that something like this happens and nobody should die that way, of all ways to die, by accident is pretty terrible. We see people jump in front of the trains all the time. It’s not suicide, it wasn’t a suicide at all.”
