Impaired driving leads to big police response at Langley mall

Officials said there was no threat to the public

Surrey and Langley RCMP officers descended on a vehicle in the parking lot at the Willowbrook Shopping Centre early on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., almost a dozen police officers in marked and unmarked vehicles arrived near the front entrance of the mall near the Tim Hortons outlet.

According to Surrey RCMP media spokespeople, an impaired driving incident had led police to the area. There was no threat to the public.

A dark grey minivan was towed from the site at around 2 p.m.
