2 men charged in Guildford mall stabbing

Two men have now been charged in a stabbing that took place at Guildford Town Centre late last year.

A fight broke out at the Guildford shopping mall on Nov. 16, 2023 at about 4:30 p.m., according to the Surrey RCMP. In the duration of the fight, one individual was seriously injured from stab wounds and taken to hospital. Police took two males into custody following the stabbing.

“This incident occurred in a very public place and was concerning to police and the community,” Surrey RCMP media relations officer Cpl. James Mason said in a release.

Abdimalik Idle, 22, and Tut-Kuoth Kong, 18, have both been charged in relation to this case by the BC Prosecution Service, the release states. Idle has been charged of assault with a weapon, while the 18-year-old has been charged with assault and assault with a weapon.
