Danny Bhoy apparently loves Canada, and fans in Surrey apparently love him.

This month he’s travelling west on a cross-Canada tour that includes a Nov. 2 show at Bell Performing Arts Centre, where the Scottish comedian has performed several times over the past decade.

This time around, the Just For Laughs company presents his “Now Is Not a Good Time” tour with other B.C. dates Nov. 3 at Vancouver’s Chan Centre and Nov. 4 in Victoria.

Bhoy’s unique brand of observational storytelling has been a hit with audiences around the world, including recent sold-out shows in Australia and New Zealand.

In Surrey, a chart on the Bell’s website shows most of the seats sold for the Thursday show there. Tickets start at $55.30 on hahaha.com.

Bhoy first established himself in North America during a 2014 tour. That year he joked about his time working as an underage busboy at his uncle’s hotel.

“Every time I had a school vacation, I’d go up and work there collecting glasses,” he recalled in an interview with the Now in 2014, prior to a show at the Bell.

“I used to gravitate around the bar area and listen to all the stories and jokes that these old alcoholics would come in and tell in the afternoon when they should’ve been working. I owe everything to the drinks industry.”

This fall the Bell will also welcome the comedy show “My One & Only” starring Im Hussein (Nov. 4), the Four Seasons musical tribute “Oh What A Night!” (Nov. 5), disco-era band Boney M. (Nov. 19), Luisa Marshall as Tina Turner (Nov. 26), the VSO performing Ravel’s famous “Bolero” (Dec. 3), a “Buddy’s Holly Jolly Christmas” show (Dec. 8) and the return of James and Jamesy in “O Christmas Tea: A British Comedy” (Dec. 29).
