Elizabeth Yablonski (nee Trotzuk)

October 9, 1920 - March 16, 2024

Elizabeth Yablonski (nee Trotzuk) of Surrey, BC, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at the age of 103.

Elizabeth was born on October 9, 1920 in Rozch, Poland. As a young girl, she moved with her family to St. Walburg, SK. She married her husband Mitrofan (Mike) in 1942 and the couple settled in New Westminster, BC. Following the birth of their daughter Leda and son Dennis, the young family established roots in Surrey in the early 1950s.

Family was everything to Elizabeth and Mike and their door was always open to family and friends. Elizabeth was known for sharing her love, care and wisdom with her family and friends and everyone around her.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Leda Kwichak; son Dennis Yablonski; granddaughters Correna (Jeremy) Bluetchen and Erica (Adam) Wlosek; great grandson Elliot Bluetchen; goddaughter Yvonne (Kaare) Pedersen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Mitrofan Yablonski (1999); parents Andrew and Eufemia Trotzuk; her brothers Alexander (1974) and Jacob (2015); sister Antonia Dubbins (2006); son-in-law Edmund Kwichak (2003); daughter-in-law Christine Yablonski (2021); sisters-in-law Mary Trotzuk (2005) and Sandy Trotzuk (2011); brother-in-law Harvey Dubbins (2006); and godson Jake Danilkewich (2015).

A funeral and gravesite service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 9 am at Valley View Funeral Home 14660 72 Ave, Surrey, BC (604-596-8866) with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, honorary donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
