• Rotten tomatoes to the six per cent property tax hike. No one needs another financial hit, even if it’s only $152 per household. Why not go after all those with stop-work stickers on their illegal builds, as well as all the extra suites that never had paid permits pulled or inspections for “lost revenue.”

• Please send an R6 double-decker bus full of roses to Surrey TransLink bus drivers who wait for any running late passengers and welcome them onboard with a smile. You are all heroes.

• Beautiful roses to the city’s public safety committee and Kam Grewal’s finance team in demanding accountability for taxpayers’ dollars before granting $399,000 to the Surrey Crime Prevention Society. Rotten tomatoes to Councillors Annis, Bose, Nagras, Elford, who feign being “taken aback.” Their memory is surely short as on March 11 the minutes of the Jan. 24 public safety committee (with relevant comments) were received and carried and all these councillors were present.

• Bountiful beautiful buckets of brilliant roses to the couple who picked up my accidentally dropped wallet while I was shopping at the Guildford Mall on Friday and returned it to me while I was at the cash. I hadn’t even a clue that it had fallen out of my purse and if not for them would have returned home to a horrible surprise to find it missing. My cards, my ID, my driver’s licence — I can’t describe the stress and anguish your act of kindness and compassion had saved me! I do so hope that only good things come your way and you are somehow rewarded.

• Bushels of rotten tomatoes to the person who thought it was a good idea to put bushes and two trees in the roundabout at 170 Street and 80 Avenue in Fleetwood. Could get the Dumb Idea Award.
